Subject statement

Burnside Secondary aims to cultivate young minds and provide an environment in which respect, tolerance, kindness and dignity for each person is recognised and developed. We stand strong on the belief that pupils’ full potentials can be promoted though enriching and challenging curriculum, that reinforces growth mindset and positivity. Citizenship does just that, by providing a natural place for the school’s ethos and for the many national curriculum requirements around SMSC, British Values and Prevent Duty. The study has the power to motivate and enable young people to become thoughtful, active citizens.
