At Forest Pathway College we encourage our pupils to become independent learners as we believe this is an essential life skill that will support young people in their futures. To this end all of our subjects expect pupils to complete tasks at home which we refer to as ‘Independent Learning Activities’. Each week pupils will receive a Learning Outcome Sheet from their subject teachers which will identify the task that they have to complete at home. These tasks will then be marked by teachers and handed back for correction if appropriate.
We do recognise that some pupils may initially struggle to complete tasks at home without support when they first arrive, due to low English skills. In order to promote confidence we offer after school sessions where pupils can work with their peers and staff to complete the activities that have been set.
