Meet Our Governors
Governor pen portraits are being prepared for this new website launch and as we prepare to onboard some new governors following their appointment on 5th December 2018. We will add our governor portraits as they come in in January 2019.
Beth Jones - Appointed December 2018
Beth has worked since 2011 at the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, where she has driven the Foundation’s Good Career Guidance programme and is currently working with government and other partner organisations to embed the Gatsby Career Benchmarks into national policy. Alongside managing budgets, policy activity, research and projects for this programme, Beth sits on advisory groups for several education partners. Beth graduated from Cambridge University with a natural science degree and uses this expertise to oversee Gatsby projects on 11-18 science education, including most recently co-authoring a report on international best practice in delivering experimental science. Beth previously worked with environmental engagement charities, which included teaching geography and biology fieldwork and working with teachers and young people in parks and greenspaces across London. She hopes her skills and experience, particularly related to STEM and employability, will help Hawkswood continue providing excellent education to those young people across Waltham Forest who are most in need.
Nathalie is the South East Senior Tutor at Create Development, an organisation that works to inspire children and their families to build positive relationships with physical activity and acquire life long learning skills through personal development. Nathalie is a qualified teacher has senior leadership experience in the Primary setting. She is passionate about social justice and tackling disadvantage, with the firm belief that every child can and should reach their full potential.
Nathalie is Trustee for the Compass Partnership, a multi academy trust comprising of 8 schools in the borough of Greenwich.
Nathalie has been part of the Management Group at Hawkswood for 7 years and was elected as Vice Chair in 2016. Nathalie brings knowledge and understanding of education and has supported staff to develop elements of the the PE, health and growth mindset provision.
