Our Approach to Learning
We are strong advocates of developing a Growth Mindset in our young people many who are often limited by their own expectations. We promote a fresh start for all of our young people. We have a can-do enterprising culture. We aim to inspire our students to know that, through hard work and determination, they can achieve and be successful throughout life. We promote kindness and respect in our school and this is important for staff as well as students as it represents our commitment to life long learning and a growth mindset.
It is very important to us that, whatever an individual student’s starting point is, he or she is given the opportunities needed to achieve his or her personal best. We are therefore particularly excited about our plans to develop our existing building with a strong wellbeing and employability focus offering our students the best possible learning environment to meet their specific needs. We focus on supporting our pupils to make progress across three areas, academic, wellbeing and safeguarding.
'Students’ behaviour is good and their attitudes to learning are particularly positive in lessons. This is as a result of the school’s high expectations and highly effective management of behaviour'.
