Subject qualification course information

Taught only at KS4 Year 11, Statistics is about making decisions when there is uncertainty. Perhaps one of the most versatile areas of maths, it gives students the skills to collect, analyse, interpret and present data. Statistics complements many subjects including GCSE Mathematics, Science, Business, etc. and opens the door to a variety of careers e.g. finance and science.

GCSE Statistics is taught alongside Maths. Topics are clearly and logically structured, inter-alia:

  • Understanding the importance of planning,
  • Strategy for collecting, recording and processing data to address an identified question or hypothesis, and
  • Interpretation/ visualisation of the maths involved.

Exams - clear, well structured and accessible to all abilities.
